Corvis had heard any number of stories told to while away the long nights of Mistide; the entire abbey hunkered beneath Eldfäst’s wards, showing off scars and laughing about the best and worst of what they’d survived that year.
With any luck, he could be done and back with hours enough to spend some of his promised payment on dinner in the local tavern. With even more luck, he wouldn’t be too worn out to go looking for a bit of company after.
Corvis should really know better by now than to have those kinds of thoughts.
