If you had ever asked me what I wanted to do with my life, author wouldn't have even cracked the top ten list. I just couldn't conceive of anyone being interested in the stories I'd spin myself, the strange little worlds and characters I'd construct in my head. Fortunately, like a lot of folks, I dove into writing during the pandemic lockdown. I posted what I wrote, and knowing there were others out there feelings the same things got me through the dark patches.

In that first year, I wrote and posted enough to make four full novels, and I'm still going strong. All the love & positivity & support for them from readers like you - it's been beyond my wildest dreams.

It does cut into my 'day job' hours though, which is still how I pay most of my bills. And since utility companies won't accept MM books in trade for keeping the lights and wi-fi on (rude!), I have to figure out ways to balance my time between work that's important to me and y'know, buying food. There's a lot of work though that goes into all the complex characters, massive worldbuilding, & in-depth plots that have readers dashing into my inbox to gasp & cheer on the characters, sharing their excitement about all the plot's twists and turns. That work takes time - time to research, draft, write, & edit to get it all just so.

Enter you, the hero of our tale.

In 2022 I started my Patreon for four reasons:

1. Access: Readers were asking for more of me, my stories, and my process. But how could I give that to them?
2. Time: My day job was sucking up all my hours & energy. How could I claw some of that back?
3. Encouragement: I'd discovered a deep love for writing, but love doesn't pay the bills. Were my stories good enough to sustain a career?
4. Accountability: Could I create a regular writing and posting habit, that would keep me focused on finishing my books?

While the idea that I could connect with early readers was exciting, it was unknown. "Surely," I thought, "No one will actually take me up on this, right?"

Gosh, was I wrong. I can honestly say that the support of readers like you has changed my life forever. But I'm only just getting started - I have so many more stories to tell!

And I'm not above bribing y'all to help me do it.
